Conquering the Klamm

Into the Wild Heart of Bavaria

Tucked deep in the Bavarian Alps, Parknachklamm is a true natural spectacle—towering cliffs, roaring alpine waters, and narrow winding paths carved right into the rock. It’s the kind of trail that thrills the senses and challenges every step.

Meet the Explorers: Spot and Yuna

We explored the gorge with our two German pointer dogs, Spot and Yuna. Yuna, still young dog and bursting with energy, would’ve jumped into every stream if she could—but the gorge is fenced off, and dogs (and people) stay safely above the fast-flowing water. That didn’t stop her from trying to sniff out every splash from above.

Spot, our senior dog boy, approached it with calm focus, always alert but a bit more measured with each step.

Ready for splashes!

The Mudventure Coat ECO is a lightweight, unlined waterproof dog raincoat designed for wet and windy adventures. Made from recycled materials with fully taped seams, a rainstopper collar, and a sealable leash opening, it keeps your dog dry without overheating—perfect for summer rain, travel, hiking, or everyday walks. Adjustable for a snug fit with rear leg loops and a stretch waist belt, this eco-friendly dog jacket stays secure even during fast runs. Reflective details add visibility for safe early morning or evening outings. A must-have raincoat for dogs who love the outdoors—rain or shine.

Gear That Makes the Difference

Both dogs wore their Hurtta Mudventure Dog Raincoats ECO—a must on this kind of trail. Between the mist, waterfalls overhead, and unpredictable mountain rain, raincoats kept them both dry, warm, and ready for anything. This lightweight and breathable dog rain jacket moved easily with the dogs, never restricting their pace or curiosity.

Tips for Future Adventurers

We highly recommend visiting Parknachklamm, but here’s our advice:

  • Go outside of peak season. The trail gets crowded quickly, especially in summer.
  • Come prepared. Expect wet conditions, narrow passages, and lots of fellow hikers.

The beauty is absolutely worth it—but having the right gear (for both you and your dog) makes a huge difference.

Until Next Time, Alps

Spot and Yuna might not have gotten wet this time, but thanks to their dog gear, they were more than ready to handle the wild side of the Alps.

Bavarian Alps, thanks for having us and see you soon!
