Embracing Golden Larches and Crisp Nights

A Golden Welcome

The Dolomites called to us again, this time for a final touch of autumn’s golden colors. We couldn’t wait to see the larches, already glowing in shades of orange.

As I packed for the trip and sorted the gear, the forecast caught my eye - temperatures would dip below zero at night. A shiver of excitement ran through me.. it was finally time to bring out the new Hurtta Extreme Warmer III ECO dog winter jackets for Chilli and Zazu.

Sunrise Walks at Lago di Braies

We started the roadtrip with a sunrise walk around the Lago di Braies, where the water mirrored the orange larches perfectly. The air was cool with a touch of winter, but the dogs seemed totally comfortable wearing their warm dog winter jackets.

Gear Up for Cold Nights!

We updated the Extreme Warmer ECO dog coat, one of our most popular, earth-friendly dog winter jackets, for even greater performance and wearability, empowering you and your furry friend to conquer winter’s chilliest days.

The Freedom of Camping with a Rooftop Tent

Camping with a rooftop tent brings a special kind of freedom. We can stop anywhere that feels right. As night fell, we searched for a quiet spot with a stunning view. Our criteria are always the same: a place where the sun sets or rises in a way that tugs at your heart.

After setting up the rooftop tent, we turned on the heating blankets and made sure the dogs had their Hurtta Outback Dreamer ECO dog sleeping bags, in case they wanted to use them. Then we layered them with the new Extreme Warmer III ECO dog coats. Watching them stretch and settle into the warmth was comforting, and I was amazed at how easily they adapted.

During the night, we gathered closer, making warmth our shared mission.

Morning Chill and Sunrise Magic

Morning came with a chill that cut through our layers, but the promise of a stunning sunrise pulled us from the tent. The dogs, still wearing their Extreme Warmers, were also ready. As soft light spread over the peaks, we made coffee and cooked breakfast, enjoying the moment as night turned to day.

Packing Up and Reflecting on the Adventure

Soon, it was time to pack up: blankets folded, sleeping bags put away, and the rooftop tent folded back. I’m so grateful we have managed to sleep under the stars, even in the cold weather. There’s something magical about being outdoors, wrapped in warmth, surrounded by nothing but the clear sky above us. It reminded me how special these moments are, no matter the chill in the air.

With everything packed, we drove off, excited to see what the next day in the Dolomites would bring.

Pick up the style

Hurtta Ambassadors Chilli and Zazu both weigh about 17kg, have a back length of 52cm, and wear the Hurtta Extreme Warmer III ECO warmest dog winter jacket in size 55 / 22".
