Why is it always raining in Germany? We don’t know but it surely is the reason for the fields and forests being deeply green. Today we stopped on the roadside to simply walk into the woods. There is so much beauty hidden behind the first row of pine trees, which you cannot see from the car.

We try not to go where most people are going, which has the side-effect of missing hiking trails and pre-established, safe paths to follow. Marci was chasing after Kajla, when he tripped in a vine and hurt his knee. Luckily nothing serious happened.

Even the dogs had to watch out where they were going, but at least they were geared up with their Hurtta Weekend Warrior II ECO Harnesses. Even though Kajla blended in with the green colours of the forest, even when it gets darker we can see her reflecting the light. Grabbing them in case of a sudden animal encounter is also easily done by holding on to the handle of the harness.

A rainy day in Germany leads to an impromptu walk through the forest, where hidden beauty and a small mishap remind the family of the joy—and unpredictability—of wandering off the main trails. Their dogs, well-equipped with harnesses, enjoy the freedom of leash-free exploration in a still-wild corner of nature.
