I have one of the earlier versions of this coat plus the new version for my dogs. While I do love some of the added features of the latest one, like the higher neck and the extra adjustments, I'm so very impressed with the durability of my first one; going on 8 yrs....still in great condition and does the job in our wet coast climate. Impressive! As always, Hurtta quality is top notch and I often recommend their products to friends.

Bought a "Drizzle" from a Swedish retailer eather than directly from Hurtta, due to acute need--and I love it just as much as the other two Hurtta coats I've bought recently.

It's absolutely water and wind proof, gives just the right amount of warmth and the cut is roomy without losing essential cover, making the fit great. Soft, light weight, dries extremely fast--what's not to love?

Be careful with the sizing--especially if you have the type of dog that tends to land between sizes--and think about how much of your dog you wish to cover. If you want cover that extends well beyond the root of the tail, go for a bigger size and adjust the back lengh with the excellent adjust-to-fit elastic strings. My dog has a 60 of another model, and it fits slightly better than a 55, IMO--since it's better to have a little bit to work with. On him, the 55 is actually the proper size and needs no adjustment, but I would have preferred it an inch longer in the back.

My going-on-12 year old GWP has a bad coat--thin and sparse--and gets very cold when not in motion. I bought the Extreme warmer for him, but discovered that it was far too warm for the mild weather of early winter in southern Sweden. He was practically steam boiled in temperatures over -5 C... We'll save that for the REALLY cold days with icy coastal winds and slushy snow.

The Drizzle is very thin--but the foil lining works great and he maintains just the perfect temperature all the way down to -5, and would probably be fine below that as well, if in motion. Especially due to the protection from wind and rain.
It won't be enough for a hairless or VERY thin coated breed--except for spring and autumn rains--but considering the bad quality of my dog's coat, it will definitely be enough for other breeds. It might be too warm for a dog with very thick fur--except for really cold days.

Takin vuori on liukas ja kiinnitysvyö ei oikein pysy paikoillana samoin liukkaiden takia. Vuori voisi olla vähemmän liukasta matgeriaalia ja hieman lämpimämpi, ja samoin vyö pehmeänpää, joustavaa materiaalia, jotta pysyisi paikoillaan paremmin.
