Recycled fabrics and wadding make up the vast majority of the Expedition Parka II. As part of our broader material strategy, we continue increasing the share of recycled and certified materials across the collection, working toward 100%.
Recycled fabrics in entire collection, year by year
Since 2023, every new Hurtta product has been developed using recycled materials. Across the collection, the share of recycled fabrics and wadding has increased significantly from 41% in 2023 to 81% in 2025.
Progress takes time, but direction matters. Were continuously improving material choices to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the durability our products are known for.

Each material, each cut, and each detail is designed to work together, so the jacket performs reliably in changing conditions and stays in use longer. - INPUT STREAM MANAGEMENT ensures that bluesign® approved chemical products and raw materials are used in all steps of the manufacturing process
- Substances posing risks to people and the environment will not enter the supply chain
- On site inspections verify the proper application of chemical products and raw materials in controlled processes and ensure the responsible use of resources
42% bluesign®
Today, 42% of materials used in the Expedition Parka II are bluesign® approved. This means safer, less harmful substances, better resource use, and more responsible production from the very beginning.
We're continuing this work to reach 90% across all materials, including shell, wadding, lining, and webbings.

Our packaging is designed with purpose using certified recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible. We focus on reducing unnecessary components and making every part easy to sort and recycle. Everything designed to be used, and reused where possible.
100% recycled packaging
All packaging for the Expedition Parka II is made from recycled materials, and designed to be fully recyclable. A small part of the product, but an important step in reducing overall impact.

Across the Hurtta collection, the share of recycled and recyclable packaging has steadily increased, reaching 84% in 2025. We continue to improve material choices, reduce unnecessary components, and move toward fully recyclable packaging across all products.
