I’ve been wanting to head out to Klevevž for a while. It’s one of those spots that keeps coming up when people talk about hidden gems in Slovenia. It’s a natural thermal spring tucked into a quiet forest in the Dolenjska region, surrounded by old castle ruins, mossy trails, and just the right amount of mystery.

It’s gotten pretty popular among tourists over the past few years thanks to social media, so we figured a late, cloudy afternoon might give us a bit more peace and space—and we were right. Just a few people around, quiet trails, and that soft kind of light that makes everything feel a little extra calm.

The whole meadow was covered in those fluffy white dandelions (you know, the wish-making kind), and of course, we immediately turned into kids. Blowing them into the wind, one after another, and Nui did a full-body slide through them at one point and came out looking like a walking wish. Nano wasn’t impressed, but he tolerated it like a champ.

It was one of the first properly warm days this year, so naturally, the dogs decided it was time for the first splash of the season. Nui did not hold back - straight into the spring like a little torpedo. Nano, as usual, took a more thoughtful approach… and still ended up with a soaked belly because apparently that’s just how it should be done.

We’ve been using the Hurtta Weekend Warrior II eco dog harnesses and Adjustable Rope leashes since we got them last year, and honestly? They’ve become our default. Reliable, sturdy yet soft, easy to use, and they’ve held up through everything from snow days to muddy hikes with dogs.

They have the updated version of the harnesses now, and the fit is even better— the new 55-70 size works better for her lean, slightly in-between body type. The front padding is narrower at the front, and the leash loop sits exactly where it should - no more risk of hitting the body with the leash carabiner. Small things, but they make a big difference.

My favourite feature, though? The strong handle on the back. It’s perfect for when Nano goes full hoover mode and forgets he’s meant to walk, not vacuum the forest floor—I can just scoop him up and move him along like a backpack. 😄 The rope dog leash is comfy in hand, looks great (er - that’s my favorite feature😂), and has this clever little poop bag pocket hidden in the handle —which is brilliant unless someone (not naming names) forgets to restock it. Again.

If you’re ever exploring Slovenia, Klevevž is definitely worth a stop. The thermal spring stays warm all year (between 21–25°C), so it’s a lovely little spot for a proper soak if you’re up for a swim. The trail down from the parking lot is short but rather steep, so wear good shoes. And definitely bring a towel. Or two.
