When Hurtta got in touch with us to ask if we wanted to be amongst the first to try the brand-new Life Vests’ I was absolutely ecstatic!

To start with, I need to mention the new colour ways! The first is the most amazing turquoise with pink and red accents, and the other is a warm, rich orange, with hints of cinnamon and grey. The moment I saw the vests’ I knew exactly which colour I would use for which dog - after all Archie looks amazing in orange, and turquoise really pops against Asher’s dark fur.

One addition I really appreciated on the new vests was the ability to velcro the excess strap to the vest after adjusting, so that it's not hanging down or getting in the way. The front of the vest also has a new clasp which the strap threads through easily and then tucks into the side pocket, it takes seconds to tighten and loosen.

The Life Vest is really lightweight, which means its super easy to pack away and it dries quickly - but don't be fooled; the buoyancy of the vests is still second to none. Our two often jump over board in favour of a quick dip alongside us. Both dogs were comfortable swimming in their vests until they decided they’d had enough, at which point we grabbed the handle on the back of the vest and lifted them back onto our vessel - another feature we’re grateful of.

We spent a whole day on the lake, enjoying time both on and off the water. The dogs wore their Life Vests the entire time and were able to make the most of their adventure with absolutely no restrictions from the vests.

We can’t wait to get more use out of the Life Vests throughout the summer!
