To the Trig Point and Beyond
Mud, Moorland and Open Skies
Across muddy moorland and puddled trails Hurtta Adventurer Tessa heads out on a windswept hike beneath big open skies. Follow her journey to the trig point summit and the sweeping views that make every muddy step worthwhile.
A Perfect Escape on the Moor
Some walks feel like a little escape from everything else and today was one of those days. Out on the muddy moors with nothing but open sky and winding paths ahead, it was perfect. The chilly weather keeping most at home, but to us there’s no such thing as bad weather with the right gear!
As soon as she was released Tessa’s nose was already working overtime, sweeping side to side as she gathered the news of the moor. The path stretched ahead in a ribbon of damp earth and puddles, winding through tufts of grass and dark patches of bog. Her tail lifted high with excitement, she knew exactly what kind of walk this was going to be.

Built for Changeable Weather
Dressed in her rich eggplant-coloured Hurtta Mudventure dog rain Coat, Tessa looked both practical and stylish against the muted browns and greens of the moorland. The deep purple stood out beautifully against the misty landscape, making her easy to spot as she bounded ahead like a little explorer on an important mission.
Out on the moor the weather can change in an instant, but the coat kept her shielded from the harsh winds and the occasional passing shower, letting her focus entirely on the important work of exploring every muddy path.
Puddles, Splashes and Pure Joy
The moor had clearly enjoyed a good dose of rain recently. Every few steps revealed another puddle, and Tessa treated each one as if it had been specially placed there for her. With a joyful leap she’d splash straight through, sending muddy droplets flying behind her before charging off to investigate the next interesting scent.
The dog coat did exactly what it was meant to do, keeping her protected from the rain and wind while still letting her run and leap without restriction. Watching her tear across the open ground, ears flapping and paws drumming against the soft earth, it was obvious she felt completely free.
Reaching the Trig Point
After a steady climb across the rolling ground, a familiar shape appeared on the skyline: the marked trig point standing proudly at the peak of the moor. Tessa reached it first of course. She dashed ahead and hopped on it with great confidence, as though she was claiming her achievement.
For a moment she paused on it looking out at the view, surveying the land like a very muddy mountaineer.
By the time we reached the car, she was gloriously muddy, wonderfully tired, and still wearing that unmistakable look of satisfaction that only a proper walk can bring.
