Beating the Heat

Preparing for the Heat

As summertime is fast approaching here in the UK, preparing to keep our pups cool and safe is a priority! While we don’t get the heat as much as other countries, some days the temperatures do climb so having a list of top tips is handy.

Getting Out Early

Recently we’ve had our first glimpse of the summer heat, with temperatures reaching 20 degrees Celsius by 9am it was important to get out in the early hours of the morning to beat the heat and have fun safely. There’s something so calming about early morning wanders, feeling the morning mist in the air and hearing the birds sing their morning melodies, often with not a soul in sight. The rest of the town asleep while you and your pup are making memories.

For hot summer weather!

The Cooling Wrap dog cooling vest provides effective cooling effect for your dog, minimizing body heat and providing comfort even in the warmest weather.

Picking Your Trail

Shade and bodies of water are your best friend when walking your pup in hotter weathers. We love to wander around the local reservoir as it has lots of shaded woodland and Tessa adores diving into the water and splashing around to cool down.

Adventure-Proof Gear

With Hurtta products you never need to worry about quality. Every item we’ve tried and tested has withstood even the most testing adventures! Having the peace of mind that my pup can be her crazy self and not having to worry about her accessories getting ruined is amazing.

Keeping Cool

To ensure Tessa stays cool and comfortable we use the Hurtta Cooling Wrap. Dipped in cool water it provides a cooling effect to key areas to provide upmost comfort to your pup in the humid air. Whether it’s being used while chilling in the house or helping to stay cool until we reach the waters for a swim on our walks, the cooling wrap is an essential for the summer months!
