Repair a damaged Twist Buckle on an elastic belt
Measure the width of elastic belt to ensure you order the correct size replacement repair twist buckle from Hurtta online store. Check whether both sides of the buckle are damaged. If both sides need replacing, we recommend visiting a local tailor for assistance.
Replacing just one side of the buckle is usually a simple DIY task. The strap end is typically finished with a stitched seam. To begin, either carefully remove the stitches or trim the end of the strap. Then, slide the new repair twist buckle into place and thread the strap back through the buckle.
If you’ve cut the strap, seal the edge by gently melting it with a lighter to prevent fraying. Once the new buckle is attached, there's no need to sew the strap back onto the adjustment buckle it will hold securely once threaded through.
