This summer was full of water, sunshine and adventures for Sammy and Nia. They got a new piece of gear to have fun summer activities in the water – their life saviour vests.

Sammy has been a water loving dog ever since he was a pup. He’s always loved swimming and is a strong, confident swimmer, whether he’s wearing a vest or not. Still, even the best swimmers need to be safe. That’s where the Hurtta Life Savior dog life vests came in – they gave me peace of mind to know he’s safe while swimming.

Nia’s story is a little different. She loves water but has always been hesitant about swimming as far or as deep as Sammy. Usually, while he swam far and deeper, she would stay closer to the shore, whining as she watched him swim so far from her. But this summer was different. With her new, super comfortable life vest, she finally felt safer. She jumped into the water and swam together with Sammy. Seeing her gain that confidence was such a precious moment.

That’s what life vests are really about – it's not just safety but also comfort and confidence. As dog parents, it’s up to us to read how our pups are feeling and help them feel safe. Sometimes that means giving them tools, like these vests, that make adventures fun instead of scary.

We even packed the vests on our road trip through Europe this summer when we drove all the way to Croatia, where Sammy and Nia got to enjoy swimming in beautiful clear waters. And can we talk about the colors? Not only are these vests practical but also really really beautiful in vibrant colors.
